Ta Prohm temple done, it was finally the turn of the most famous temple of Cambodia; Angkor Wat. To do it justice we had dedicated the whole afternoon to it.
Angkor Wat is a Hindu-Buddhist temple complex that is a site of around 162 hectares. It was built in the early 12th century. In fact it is the largest religious structure in the world! You can read more about the temple here.
The grandeur starts right from the outside as you approach it. Here are some photos taken from the road across the moat that surrounds it:

Here is the Naga at the start of the causeway leading to the entrance of Angkor Wat:

Here is the Ta Reach statue in the southern tower; an eight-armed statue of Lord Vishnu:

Here are some pictures taken from the garden and the causeway leading to the main building:

The main complex is pretty large. We walked around exploring various parts, including climbing up. Here are some pictures from there:

And finally here are a picture I took as we left the complex. It shows the out gallery.

We had heard that sunrise time can be magical. So we decided to come for it the following morning. First here is what the main building looked like in the afternoon we had come first:

And here is the same view that that we got the following morning at sunrise:

It was overcast that day. Hence the sun was not visible. But still magical, right?
Here are some pictures as we said our goodbyes to the majestic Angkor Wat:
