Lakshmi Devi temple is a temple located in the Doddagaddavalli village in the Hassan district of the state of Karnataka, India.

My wife and I were on a trip to Hassan to re-visit the Shettihalli Rosary Church (post here) and then to see the Madanikas at the Chennakeshava temple (post here). We had started our drive back to Bangalore from Belur. As we neared Hassan city, we noticed a decrepit signboard near a turn, announcing the deviation that would lead to the Lakshmi Devi Temple. I had briefly read about it when searching for interesting places around Belur. Seeing the board, we decided to visit it.

The temple is one of the oldest ones built in the Hoysala style. But unlike the other temples in Belur and Haleebidu, we did not see a jagati (platform) around the temple. The temple has four shrines and towers. Here are some pictures that I took from the visit:

There was no official guide at the temple. But the priest was acting as one. He patiently took us around the four shrines and explained the history of the temple.

It is not a large temple unlike the other famous ones in the region. It can be easily covered in around 30 minutes. The drive in from the main road is only a few kilometers. So it is worth a visit if you happen to pass by. An added bonus is that there is hardly any people who come to visit. So you will almost have the place to yourself.
