Ichathotty is a small village located in the hills of Kerala, India. So why would it interest me? Well, it has a suspension bridge set in a pristine and picturesque environment.

I had come across the suspension bridge at Inchathotty when I had been looking up on places to visit from Kochi. On seeing the pictures of it, I immediately knew that this was a place that definitely had to be visited. And that is what we did during the month of Dec.

We only spent around 45 minutes at the bridge. But we thoroughly enjoyed being there. The waters of the Periyar River, over which it has been built, is pristine and soothing to just stare into.

With regards to other activities around the place, one can also do some water-related activities such as hiring a paddle boat or canoe. We had reached there towards noon and therefore not the best time for it with the sun blasting down upon you. I think the dusk and dawn periods will also give some very interesting lighting, especially for people interested in photography. The drive to Inchathotty also goes through some beautiful forests. All in all, a place worth a visit, especially if you are in that region.
